How to calculate per cent weight loss

Formula for calculating % weight loss:

% weight loss = ((IW - AW)/IW) * 100

IW = initial weight or weight at begining of weight loss program
AW = actual weight or weight at end of weight loss program

EXAMPLE:

IW = 250 lb.
AW = 200 lb.

% weight loss   = ((250 - 200) / 250) *100

                        = (50/250) *100

                        = .20 * 100

                        = 20 % weight loss
