    Menu Messages Info
Posted by Cheryl Komline, 8/31/2010 2:23 PM.
Menu Messages At our class entitled “Menu Messages” on August 5th we learned that many sauces on a restaurant menu actually have mayonnaise as a base. Mayonnaise is made from egg yolk with oil whipped into it. Salt and vinegar are also added. We made mayonnaise during this class. It was a great illustration of the amount of fat in the form of oil that is in a “ramekin”  or small dish of sauce (about ¼ to 1/3 cup volume) when it is served in a restaurant. We used about 150 milliliters of ...

On Tuesday, July 27th, we had a great session with Margo Myer from Body Sculpt & Fitness by Margo, www.BodySculptFitness.org She was very motivating to get us out there and do something to increase our fitness. Especially, including weight bearing activities at least twice a week. She is a member of IDEA Health & Fitness Assiociation and A.C.E.  IDEA has great handouts on their website, check them out. Here is one to start you: http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-library/prescription....

I said I would be at the RHS track tonight at 7pm, not realizing at the time that I had signed up for Yoga at the Community Center which is at the same time.  Sorry, ladies, I will not be at the track-but I sure hope a few of you still meet and go for it tonight. Connie

    RE: Success or Slip...
Posted by Cheryl Komline, 6/21/2010 2:00 PM.
Joan, You are right! Success is facilitated by a sense of 'community'. 'Community' in this competition can be defined as interacting with others in the Toxic Waistline Competition since you all have a shared goal of becoming healthier through these 100 days. If you take the risk of offering support to other people in TWC you create a shared effort leading to the same goal. Each of you may end up at a different end to your journey but you are not traveling alone. So, why not start...

    Success or Slip...
    Posted by Joan55, 6/19/2010 2:34 PM.
Do we need more interaction - to have success, I'm slipping... Meet at the community center to walk 2-3 times a week? Meet at the copper kettle for green tea? Light discussion a low cal snack? I work interaction seems to always help?

    Any one interested in cycling?
Posted by Jonathan, 6/3/2010 4:58 PM.
I'm looking to include more time on my bicycle as part of my plan of attack for losing 30lbs.  Does anyone want to join me?  I'm looking to ride before 8am or after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on the weekends.  For road riding I like to use the new bike route feature on google maps to select a route. For light trail riding I like the Delaware Raritan Canal Towpath. For cross country trail riding I like Tourne, Lewis Morris, or Washington Valley Parks.

Welcome!
